They finished the taping and mudding today.  It was tape with mud, then 2 more coats of mud.  They do such a smooth job, they don't sand.  They only did the first coat on the garage so we can practice our technique in there!  The texture is next!!

Dad started a wild critter relocation program.  He captured these two young racoons yesterday.  They were in the cherry tree while we were picking cherries (3 of them, one got away)!!  It took us a while to realize we had company.  Dad caught their mom a week ago and took her on a long drive.  These guys went for a ride today. He worries about our safety.
This little guy (we think it's a western screech owl) perched himself on the kitchen window today.  He stayed all day even when Mom was staining the porch ceiling!  He left a little pile of poop on the new window sill!

Me and Osker are helping pick cherries for pies and jam!  This sour cherry tree is loaded this year!

Got walls!  We're doing the happy dance!!  It took 6 guys 4 days to sheet the house, attic, shop, and garage!  Taping and texturing will happen this week!

Mom and Dad finished the last section of porch ceiling today.  Breezeway and garage overhang still to go!

Mom finished insulating the whole damn garage and shop all by her own damn self.  She celebrated with a couple cold ones!

Been busy!  The week before last they finished insulating all the walls of the house.  The fiberglass batts were placed over the foam.  Quite a bit of foam had to be cut out though.  Two different companies did the work.  The fiberglass batt guy was going to have words with the foam guy!  The foam guy's technique wasn't quite like we'd seen on "This Old House"!
Last week Dad's college buddies came for a working vacation!  Nancy and Tom from Maui, and Jim and John from Seattle.  Nancy helped Mom install the five pocket doors to get ready for sheetrock, and put sealer on a batch of T&G!
Tom installed T&G on one section of the west porch ceiling!  The four corners of the house roof are trussed.  Those areas will be filled with blown-in cellulose which will slough off onto the porch ceiling, so we're trying hard to get it finished.
Jim and John worked on the long run of the west side porch ceiling!  Dad kept everyone prepped!  They all really helped us get over a hump and ready for the next step.  Their efforts are much appreciated!
